Tamara M. McCarty

Full time, self-taught acrylic and mixed media visual artist based in Charlotte. Tamara creates highly textured vibrant acrylic paintings.  Her paintings are held in private collections and displayed in public spaces throughout the United States. She grew up in New Mexico, where she studied under many working artists. By the age of eight, she had entered her first art competition, and she participated in her first art show while in high school.  After earning a B.A. degree in psychology from New Mexico State University, Tamara began her art career.

Early in her career she owned Tamara’s Impressions, a notecard and stationery business which highlighted her detailed ink drawings.  Her artistic journey has also included teaching art classes and workshops, working as a muralist, and completing commissioned projects.

Tamara is represented by Foster’s Frame and Art Gallery in Huntersville, NC and is an active member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists.

Tamara and her family currently reside in Charlotte, NC.  She owns and operates Tamara’s Fine Art Studio, LLC.
